All documentation needs revision control. This allows multiple authors and editors to collaborate. It also provides history and backup functions. Documentation which is part of the online help system resides in the normal Zope CVS repository. This is because the online help is a component of Zope. Therefore, you will need commit privileges for the normal Zope repository to check-in changes to online help content. For more information on CVS see cvshome.org. How to Use Zope Documentation CVS RepositoriesZope documentation projects that are not part of the Zope distribution such as the Zope Book, the Developer's Guide, and the Zope Administrator's Guide have their own CVS repositories on Source Forge.
Source Forge includes documentation on using their CVS archives. You can use the CVS archives to follow the progress of a documentation project and submit patches. If you become more involved in a documentation project, the project manager will give you write access to the CVS archive. |
