The Zope Book teaches you how to use Zope. It takes you all the way from installing Zope to ZClasses. The book is appropriate for all Zope users. The book covers Zope 2.3. The book also covers Perl Methods which are not (yet) in Zope 2.3. The book supersedes the Content Manager's Guide, the Document Template Markup Language Reference, and the ZSQL Methods User's Guide. These guides are not completely up to date, plus they stink ;-) You shouldn't have any more need for them. If you find information that they cover that's not in the book, let us know and we'll fix it. Status02/2002 - The book has been updated to cover Zope 2.5. There are now two new chapters on Page Templates. 07/2001 - The book has been published! 04/2001 - We've finished the book (for now). It has been sent to the publisher. Woo hoo! 02/2001 - We are now using Source Forge's bug tracker for book comments and bugs. 02/2001 - The book is now available via CVS on Source Forge. This means you can get the latest book sources from CVS. It also means that if you want to take an active roll in the book's development that you can get an account and have write access to the CVS archive. 02/2001 - The book is now being published by New Riders. 02/2001 - The rough draft is completed and we are working with our editors to get the editorial process farther along. PlanThe Zope book will be published by New Riders Publishing in mid-2001. A more formal plan adhering to the documention process is forthcoming ContributingYou can contribute to the book by reading it, filing bugs and comments, and if you are really interested, we can give you write access to the CVS archive so that you can check in changes yourself. At this point we're mostly interesting in folks helping us find errors and omissions. ContactThe book was written by Michel Pelletier and Amos Latteier with a lot of help from the Zope community. Send email to [email protected] with questions and comments. Thank YousThanks to our bosses for giving us time to work on the book, and thanks to everyone, especially Tom Deprez, for sending us their comments and corrections. |
