oio-0.9.3 released, featuring XML forms metadata export/import/repository
OIO-0.9.3 has been released!
At long last, forms created with the OIO and
hosted on any OIO server can be downloaded as
OIO-XML files. This opens the door to the
possibility of creating "forms" libraries,
repositories, and registries where forms can be cataloged, peer-reviewed, indexed, searched, and easily shared. (The first public "forms" server should come online in a few days at www.TxOutcome.Org.) (If anyone else is interested in running a forms server or help with creating peer-review and other repository management tools, please let me know.)
Once downloaded from the "forms library" and
imported into an OIO server, the necessary
database tables are automatically recreated and
the imported forms become immediately available
to the users of that OIO server.
These XML functions are made possible by
Amo's XML Document product, which is automatically
installed with OIO-0.9.3 (just unzip in your zope
directory). We also wish to thank
Seamus Venasse for the UserSniffer which is also used
by OIO-0.9.3.
The OIO download is only 333k and the direct link is here:
Open-Outcomes.sourceforge.net
Alternatively, you can get a public access account from
www.TxOutcome.Org to check it out first.
