FSPerlCounter, is the first true cross platform, multi threaded, file system counter I know of. I uses the pyperl module from perl, to lock the file before writing (something python does not have on all platforms).

This can be used in production, but is more of a simple example how Perl can be directly integrated into your Zope product.

This requires pyperl 1.0 or greater to be installed.
