Maildrop Host 1.2 released
The MaildropHost product provides support for sending email from within the Zope environment using MaildropHost objects. Unlike the built-in MailHost object, the sending is done asynchronously from a separate process.
The product includes a drop-in MailHost replacement to be used in conjunction with the dtml-sendmail tag (or from python) and a separate python-based daemon that runs independent of Zope. If you use MailHost objects to send mail and want to ensure scalability, or to just get rid of the annoying wait while an email is sent, this product might be for you.
Features include full Zope transaction awareness to prevent sending of duplicate emails if a request is retried inside Zope and to prevent sending mail if the request encounters an unrecoverable error.
