ZAxisVideo v1.0 is out
We're pleased to announce the immediate availability, under the GNU GPL, of ZAxisVideo version 1.0.
ZAxisVideo is downloadable from :
http://cortex.unice.fr/~jerome/ZAxisVideo
This product allows one to view and control cameras connected to Axis Video Servers (http://www.axis.com) models 2400 and 2401 from within Zope.
To view and control cameras, your Axis servers must have a recent firmware, please upgrade yours to the latest version.
Only PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) cameras can be controlled, they must be supported by your Axis server, and correctly configured.
To use this software, extract it in Zope's Products directory then restart Zope. Add an instance of ZAxisVideo, fill in the form and you're done.
You must enter the list of PTZ and non-PTZ cameras' ids. These are numeric values like 1, 2, 3 or 4. The Axis 2401 model can only view and control one camera, while the 2400 can view up to four cameras and control 2 of them.
Axis integrated web server and application don't allow easy modifications to the user interface, especially you can't both see and control all cameras at once. This software solves this problem, while allowing good integration inside an existing Zope application.
This was successfully tested with an Axis 2400, two Sony EVI-D31 PTZ Cameras, one Panasonic WV-CP240 Camera, Zope 2.6.1 under Debian GNU/Linux, and Mozilla 1.3. As always, YMMV.
