PloneMaintenance 0.3 released !

PloneMaintenance automatizes the maintenance of your Plone sites. Simply schedule your maintenance tasks and associate your own maintenance scripts with it. Then you can use your preferred Zope Scheduler or a cron job to trigger the PloneMaintenance tool regularly, and you will no more have to think about performing annoying tasks like packing the ZODB regularly or constantly keeping your Catalog up to date. PloneMaintenance comes with these two example scripts, and more useful scripts are being developed.

This is the first public release of PloneMaintenance. Backup your Plone site before testing it, as we are just about to start using it in production. Enhancements and useful scripts are always welcome.

Plone Maintenance Tool

PloneMaintenance consists of a portal_maintenance tool that allows you to define maintenance tasks and scripts to run according to a schedule assigned to the tasks. The PloneMaintenance tool gives you a complete overview of the next time any given task is scheduled.

External Scheduler needed

PloneMaintenance depends on an external tool to trigger PloneMaintenance to do its work. This can be a Scheduler for Zope or a cron job. Links to Schedulers and further help is given in the Readme of PloneMaintenance.
