This wiki is intended to capture requirements for extensions to the ZopePortalToolkit? to permit a ZopePortal? to perform ExternalMemberAuthentication? (e.g., to authenticate a new or existing user via the LightweightDirectoryAccessProtocol?, KerberosTickets?, SMBCredentials?, etc.) The chief common denominator among these SecurePortal?(s) is that they never create UserObject?(s), unlike the current portal types, in which the PortalObject? actually creates new UserObject?(s), either in the ZopeObjectDataBase? or in a SQLDataStore?.
