Mockups

I've started a couple of mockups:

  • theme1 has the basic layout, but the sidebar has a border and a light grey background.
  • theme2 is the same as theme1 but I took out font-family: helvetica,sans-serif to give people their default browser font, which is usually a serif font.
  • theme3 is the same as theme1 but doesn't have a background and border on the sidebar.
  • document1 uses the first theme and shows what a document would look like when logged in. The content area has no boxes in the left or right margins; everything is reserved for the content. The CMF object_actions go in a grey strip just below the byline.

All the mockups try to express some information architecture ideas, while also adhering to some web design goals. Lalo has shown me some mockups of this look and feel in Plone, and it looks very good.

If you can read this text, it means you are not experiencing the Plone design at its best. Plone makes heavy use of CSS, which means it is accessible to any internet browser, but the design needs a standards-compliant browser to look like we intended it. Just so you know ;)
