This modification to Zope provides support for Unicode.

Status

These patches are now included in the Zope CVS trunk and Zope Version 2.6.

Florent Guillaume has ported version 0.6 of these patches to Zope 2.5.1.

Version 6 was released in September 2001. Very little had changed since version 0.4; version 0.6 only adds support for Zope 2.4.x. These patches have been in production use for six months at that time, so I am happy to declare them stable.

Version 0.6; please note

The original patch labelled version 0.6 had a bug that prevents the RestrictedPython module from importing. The current 0.6 has no known problems. If you previously downloaded a patch of length 50753 bytes then check out the updated changes to DT_Util.py in the curren patch. Sorry for any problems this may have caused.

Earlier Versions

Version 0.4 was the first version to introduce most of the code in the current version. It was built on Zope 2.2.x. Version 0.5 was much smaller, because many of the changes to make core Zope unicode-friendly were merged into the Zope core for Zope version 2.3.0. If you are using any of these earlier versions then and are happy with them, then dont feel pressured to upgrade to 0.6.
