Infrae is happy to announce the official release of SilvaMetadata. SilvaMetadata is a product that is used to give Silva (since version 0.9.2) its flexible metadata system, but can also be used independently from Silva. It features preliminary CMF integration but can be integrated with other Zope objects as well. Infrae has also released a roadmap for the further development of SilvaMetadata in the future, and we have opened a new mailing list. We hope together we can make SilvaMetadata a component useful to everyone.

Infrae has released Silva 0.9.3, a new major release of the Silva CMS.

Infrae has just released Formulator 1.6.2. Formulator is a tool to make the creation and validation of web forms easier in Zope. This release provides Zope 2.7.0 compatibility and a range of small bugfixes. Thanks everybody for their patches and contributions!

At long last, a new release of ParsedXML. ParsedXML can be used to store XML text as DOM tree in the Zope Object Database, so that this XML can be accessed and manipulated as a tree of nodes.

At long last, the Silva development team is moving towards a Silva 1.0 release. Silva is an open source content management system with a focus on structured content and its reuse. The most important feature of Silva 1.0 is deeply integrated support for Kupu, the WYSIWYG through the web editor with support for Mozilla and Internet Explorer.

The Silva team has just released Silva 1.0rc2. It is mostly identical to Silva 1.0rc1 but contains a few bugfixes as a result of feedback on rc1. Please try it out and let us know whether it works for you!

October 14, 2004 - Infrae is pleased to release extensions for Python, Zope and the Silva CMS for harvesting web-based repositories exposed using the OAI-PMH standard (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting). In addition we are announcing an extension for the Railroad content repository software for exposing existing Railroad systems as OAI-PMH harvestable repositories. The individual components enable organizations to harvest, index and present data from any OAI-PMH repository, and also allow the setting up of a new repository with Railroad.

This release contains three major new features: expanded version management for XML documents, subscription functionality for all versioned content, and an internationalized Silva user interface, including Dutch and German translations. April 20, 2005 – Infrae released Silva 1.1.4, which is a maintenance version of Silva 1.1.

1. october 2006 – The Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule World program is pleased to announce the release of the dynamic Learning Content Management System, developed by the Center for Organizational and Occupational Sciences of ETH Zurich.

Infrae has just released SilvaStatic, a Silva extension that allows users to export a static copy of content maintained in Silva to an external website. This allows an organization to run Silva internally to manage content, but export the content to a simple external web server, for instance at an internet provider. The only things the web server needs to support are the serving of static files and FTP access so content can be uploaded.

1. march 2007 – Infrae has released version 1.6 of the Silva content management system. This release brings a range of improvements and several key new features, such as automatic PDF and Word file fulltext indexing, Atom/RSS feeds from containers, ‘classic’ list-based menu rendering, and additions to the documentation. Performance has been significantly improved by changing how containers are published and optimizing calls to the metadata service.

Infrae has released version 2.0 of the Silva content management system. This architectural release targets Zope 2.10 and higher and takes advantage of much of the new technology. Infrae has striven to keep Silva 2.0 almost feature identical to Silva 1.6, while refactoring and rebuilding large parts of the system ‘under the hood’, using advances in Zope and Five infrastructure. This major reworking should especially help extension developers by expanding the set of tools available to them.

Infrae is pleased to announce the first public release of Silva Forum, an extension for Silva 2.x that provides a classic discussion forum environment. It can be integrated with OpenID authentication and a CAPTCHA to prevent spambots from attempting to post.

1. Dec 2010 – Infrae is pleased to announce the final release of Silva 2.3. This release contains a gamut of new features for users, system administrators, and developers. The most important changes for users are support for mobile skins based on browser detection, and a robust reference management system that preserves links between resources. System administrators should note that Silva now supports WSGI servers and this is the recommended way to run it. Developers will enjoy a more consistent API and vastly improved testing infrastructure.
