Title | resource name | ZopeLDAP 1.1.0 |
Description | resource summary |
The ZopeLDAP Product consists of two actual products in the same release: ZLDAPConnection for managing connections to LDAP Servers and returning Zope-ish Entry objects, and ZLDAP Filter Methods for querying LDAP Servers.

WARNING: While ZopeLDAP tries to be transactional, there is a known problem with this feature, particularly in recent Zopes. The problem occurs when trying to update more than one Entry per transaction. This new release (1.1.0) allows the connection to be run in a non-transactional mode.

ZopeLDAP Resources

README.txt - See this for the great and powerful README.

CHANGES.txt - See this for list of most recent changes by release.

PROGRAMMING.txt - New programming documentation.

<s style="color: red;">ZopeLDAP Tracker</s> - Deprecated. The product is currently unsupported.
<s style="color: red;">ZopeLDAP ZWiki</s> - Deprecated - too hard to follow up on issues, was going unused.

UserLDAP is similar to UserDb. It reads authentication information out of an LDAP Server and has customizable ZLDAP Filter Methods for looking up users. Adding/Editing/Deleting of users is not in this release. UserLDAP can make use of SHA1 and CRYPT encoded passwords. UserLDAP is a simple facility. LDAP extensions to the Intergalactic User Folder Theory are probably a much better option. It's pretty antiquated and may no longer even be up to Zope specs.

ZopeLDAP requires David Leonard's ldapmodule, from http://python-ldap.sourceforge.net/ and the compiled module needs to be (naturally) in your PYTHONPATH (or in ZLDAPConnection/).

|
