  Discussion of what tools we'll use to create our assigment products go

  ERD tools

    Stephen raised a question regarding what tool to use for drawing an ERD. I
    plan to use Visio 2000 and/or Dia (an Open Source diagramming tool), both of 
    which I have readily available.

    We can easily upload the diagrams by adding a WikiName to the ERDs page, 
    then when you click on the '?' you use the 'this form' link to upload an 
    image instead of creating a new page. I've linked an example on that page.

    Because this is the web, we can best exchange the created diagrams by 
    exporting a GIF or a PNG file from our tool of choice before uploading. We 
    could, of course, still share the source files if we all use the same tool.

    Tools

      Dia -- Unfortunately, Dia doesn't do Crow's foot.

      Visio -- Both the 2000 and 2002 versions do Crow's foot notation. The file
      format is compatible, apparently.

  Data Dictionary tool

    We need to produce a DataDictionary. I'll assume for now we'll produce this 
    in Excel, as suggested by Samuel.

    In plain text, produced for and tested on DB2 (of course).
