RIPP stands for "[Racks], Implementors, PropertyHandlers, and [Predicates]", and it is the pattern language upon which the ZPatterns implementations are based.  (Note: Implementors are now known as [Specialists]).  Designed and implemented by PhillipEby and TySarna, it was also the subject of their January 2000 presentation at the Zope Track of the International Python Conference.  Slides from that presentation are available online:
