In Mozilla the user interface is defined in a UI language named XUL, which is
XML based. All elements are basically styled using CSS. Currently, 3rd party
applications can use the widgets defined for the standard set of applications,
like the browser. But because the user can switch 'skins', these widgets can
switch appearance, thus messing up the interface for apps not able to follow
*all* possible new skins for the browser.
A solution would be to design a special set of widgets for 3rd party
applications, which would not be included in skin switches.
